Lahurabir area
In the Lahurabir district, between the train station and the Godaulia district, mainly mid-category hotels are located. The exception is huge, the expressionless Hotel Vaishal (n 56577), where you pay for a single / double / triple with bathroom 60/100/150 INR (warm water in a bucket).
Hotel Natraj (O 43652) wishes 70/ 90 INR for en-suite rooms (additional 20 INR for air-cooler). Adjoining Ajaya Hotel (n 43707) it is slightly better and slightly more expensive (80/100 INR; 130/150 INR rooms with air-cooler). Check-in lasts here 24 hours.
Especially worth recommending – because of the nice service and tasty food – is the Buddha hotel (O 43686), right behind the Ajaya hotel. All the rooms, albeit modest, they have a bathroom. It is true that windows were "forgotten" in them (the hotel is located in an old building), however, the high ceiling allows the temperature to be maintained. The price ranges from 100 do 160 INR. Meals are served on the veranda.

Hotel Garden View (360859) lies in the distance 1 km from the busy Vidyapeeth Rd. The garden at the hotel is very modest, and the price of the rooms is not interesting – 50/100 INR without bathroom; 130/150 INR z air-cooler.
Well-appointed rooms at the recently opened Hotel Siddharth (54161; fax 352301) costs 200/275 INR (325/ 400 INR with air conditioning).

Some hotels in the area do not accept foreigners, because they do not have the so-called. "C forms", intended for the registration of tourists from outside of India. Dasaswamedh Lodge and the Madras hotel with an interesting proposal "Live and Die in Benares" belong to this type of hotel..
Old Town and Ghats Region It's the cheapest here, and some hotels have the best possible locations – right on the Ganges, overlooking the ghats. The roof terraces are perfect for relaxing and watching the sun rise (sometimes you don't even have to get out of bed!).
Great popularity, especially among the Japanese, enjoys Vishnu Rest House. Two steps to the river, and a single / double with shared bathroom costs here 40/60 INR (60/80 INR with bathroom). NEARBY is the Ku-miko House Pension, owned by a Japanese woman. Room prices similar.
In the northern part of the Old Town, at the Scindia Ghata (obok ghatu Manikarnika), kind man runs the little one, clean and tidy Scindhia Guest House hotel (tr 320319). A bed in a shared room costs money 20 INR, and one / two 50/75 INR (the rooms are very small). You can take a warm shower in the hotel, there is also a good restaurant here.
The hotel found followers, e.g.. Legal Lodge, Old Yogi Lodge, Gold Yogi Lodge, New Yogi Lodge czy Yogi Guest House. Some of them are of no class, nay – they give rickshaw drivers a commission, which is enough in itself, to effectively discourage people from taking advantage. Only Old Yogi Lodge can be recommended (tr 350 141) and the slightly cheaper Golden Lodge (has a roof terrace).
Sri Venkateshwar Lodge (O 322357), near the little blue temple, deserves a positive assessment. Rooms with shared bathrooms cost money 40/70 INR, the hotel has several larger rooms with private bathrooms, the management is obliging. The hotel does not impose any restrictions on hotel guests.
Trimutri Guest House (tr 323554) may tempt with the price. A bed in a shared room costs money 20 INR, upstairs rooms 30/45 INR, some have bathrooms and air-cooler. The Golden Temple looks great from the roof terrace. There is a good restaurant at the hotel.
